The Subject
This work is inspired by my zodiac sign, Aquarius. Aquarius is an air sign and the eleventh astrological sign in the Zodiac. The symbol for Aquarius is a person pouring water from a vessel, called the water-bearer.
This work is actually a self-portrait, as I used my own face as a reference for Aquarius. I used images of statues and fountains pouring water to assist with the composition of the figure in Aquarius. In the background, the constellation of Aquarius can be seen, in addition to many stars in the night sky.
